La Casa de Papel

Synopsis:

La Casa de Papel tells the story of what is expected to be the perfect heist at the Museo de la Fábrica Nacional de Moneda y Timbre (Museum of the National Mint and Stamp). The mastermind behind the plan is The Professor, a man who recruits seven people to pull off the big heist. Tokyo is a young female robber wanted by the police, Berlin takes on the role of “the ringleader”, Moscow is the drilling expert, Rio is “the IT guy”, Nairobi is the counterfeiter, Denver is Moscow’s son and, as always, the brute force is missing: Helsinki and Oslo.

The gang plans every step for five months, weighing up all the drawbacks, all the possibilities, and when the day comes, they lock themselves up for eleven days in the National Mint with 67 hostages. Their aim is to get out of there with their own freshly printed and unregistered legal tender, which will be difficult as the police have besieged the place. They will have to do the whole heist on one condition: no relations between the robbers, something they don’t take very seriously.
